Purdy Glass & Mirror Designs take your privacy very seriously.  This privacy policy describes how and when we collect, use and share information when you purchase or commission an item from us, contact us or otherwise use our services either online or through direct contact.
It does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including online sales portals or shops and other outlets which may offer our products.

 As a data controller we collect a variety of data in order to deliver our services. This will be managed transparently, fairly and securely. This data may include...
-Name, address, phone number
-Email address
-Photographs used in Image Mirror orders
-Photographs of completed commissions

When you visit our website we may collect cookies, which are small pieces of data designed to enable the website to remember information, eg. shopping cart contents. This will help personalise your experience.

This data is collected and used on the following legal bases...
-As needed to fulfil your order, settle disputes or provide customer support.
-When you have provided your affirmative consent,  such as by signing up for our mailing list either online or on paper at an exhibition. You may revoke this consent at any time.
-If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim or tax law requirements.
-As necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests when not overridden by your rights or interests, to provide and improve our services.

We retain your data for different periods depending on extent and type of services provided.
Commissions and work made to order - 12 years. This is in case of any problems arising within certain component guarantee periods, and so that we have the information required for further orders in matching colours or design.
Enquiries and quotations - 1 year. 
​Mailing List - ongoing but always with an opt-out option.

third parties we may share data with

We share your data for very limited reasons and only when necessary.
-Glass fitting services are outsourced to a local glazing company. We will only share information necessary to perform the services required.
-Delivery companies. These will only be provided with information required to deliver your product to you.
-Printing labs. This will be limited to images provided for image mirrors, or photos of completed commissions.
-Our website and contact form system is hosted by Weebly which is protected under the EU/US Privacy Shield.
-Our newsletters are sent via Mailchimp, also under the protection of the EU/US Privacy Shield.
-In the future we may offer our products through online sales portals such as Etsy and Not on the High Street etc. We will share information as necessary to provide our services and comply with our obligations under their Seller Policies and Terms of Use. 
-Compliance with laws, to comply with any valid legal process, government request, rule or regulation, or to protect the life of an individual.

We may transfer data to a country outside the European Economic Area if necessary, but will always ensure that the transfer is legal and secure.

We keep data online, on a computer and on paper documents.
We keep it secure by following policies of best practice, such as password use and keeping paperwork in a locked premises.

​In the unlikely event of a criminal breach of our security we will inform the relevant regulatory body within 72 hours and will also inform anyone whose data was involved.

​As our business develops we may change this privacy policy as necessary. We will let you know by changing the date at the top of the policy, and notifying you of any significant changes which may directly affect you. By continuing to use our services after those changes become effective, you agree to abide by the revised privacy policy.

-Change, restrict or delete your personal data, unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information, or if it is needed for legal reasons.
